MARTIAL ARTS: WHERE EDUCATION IS FUN
Young kids are curious about the world around them. They’re also very, very active. Sometimes, that curiosity and activity mean they need a little help in controlling their behavior. Many parents in the community turn to martial arts as a constructive activity that allows kids to be active, have fun, and learn important life skills.
BUILDING A CHILDS FOCUS IMPROVES THEIR ABILITY TO LISTEN
One of the first things that our students learn as martial artists is how to listen like a Black Belt.
Martial arts requires students use their mental and physical skills together to achieve their goals.
Learning to focus their eyes, their mind and their bodies on a single person speaking to them or the action that they are doing leads to improved results.
Our students get the opportunity to practice one goal at a time with the single intent of improving on it.
STOP HEARING “GIVE IT TO ME!” OR “IT’S MINE!”
Sharing is a skill that most kids have to learn. Our Successful 7 life skills curriculum allows our students to do just that in a fun environment where they will want to demonstrate this ability instead of being asked to.
Our students learn and practice the value of sharing turns. Whether it’s practicing a kick and punching drill or learning to wait their turn in line.
Sharing is a skill that will benefit them for a lifetime!
BEING COACHABLE IS IMPORTANT
Learning how to be coachable and to follow directions is a skill that will last a lifetime.
We use a fun and positive environment to teach our preschool aged students how to take and follow directions.
Our students quickly learn that following directions and be fun and rewarding!
WAITING WITHOUT COMPLAINING
More and more children are going up in an instant gratification world. With all of this going on around them it can be difficult to learn how to be patient.
Our Successful 7 life skills curriculum teaches our students to practice waiting without complaining.
Students quickly learn that being patient can quite often be more rewarding!
LEARN HOW TO MAKE SMART DECISIONS
It’s extremely common for children to make hasty decisions without thinking of the consequences, often based on their emotions.
In our martial arts academy, children learn that their first response may not always be their best. We teach them to evaluate their situation and make smart decisions rather than quick ones.
Over time, this process of decision making will become ingrained and help the student in all areas of their life.
MARTIAL ARTS HELPS KIDS LEARN TO DEAL WITH FRUSTRATION
Martial arts instruction requires students to pursue goals to earn new belts. Young kids can easily become frustrated when they don’t get what they want, but studying martial arts helps them learn the power of persistence.
The physical activity in our classes also helps kids manage stress and anxiety by allowing them to burn it off in a safe and constructive way.
